  1. i’ve got this on mame wii. good game back in the day👍

  2. Those who don't like spinach disliked the game.

  3. These days the game would probably be removed or boycotted for not having enough transgender representatives or some other SJW nonsense.

  4. These graphics look amazing for 1982!!!!

  5. The music suck so bad and is nowhere the same as the original.

  6. First place I saw this game was at the skating rink.

  7. This is the first arcade machine I ever remember seeing in my life, as a toddler I lived in an apartment building next to a warehouse and I remember one of the floors had an unplugged Popeye machine in the middle of the room…..I never got to see it plugged in or on, I used to always wonder and imagine what the game was actually like…..it was about 10 years later I finally got the chance to play a Popeye cabinet for the first time at a RV campground somewhere traveling across the USA from New Hampshire to Wyoming

  8. i remember the day our local arcade got this

  13. Since 1985 germany put a ban on setting up arcades in public places accessible to minors. Well with one exception, if your arcade was set up at the same place before 1985 you could keep it around. A local pub had popeye since then always in the same place for 35 years… they never moved even a little so they retained the right to keep it in a public place. The pub owners grandson is now running the pub and has been repairing this cabinet for all these years. When in 2002 the law was relaxed he finally moved the cabinet for cleaning the floor and found like €100 in lost coins below the cabinet.

The original owner was a pretty relaxed guy and gave always free games when parents with kids where around. And they never raised pricing, it was 0,50DM in 1985 and even today it is only 0,50 Euro.

  14. I remember playing this on a bootleg console

  15. My hometown used to have a Skaggs (soon to be an Osco Drug) and they had this game, as well as Donkey Kong 3, over by the entrance/exits, and I remember trying to play this game as a child. As I recall, I wasn't very good at it.

  16. If you guys want to check out some cool really old school arcade retro games then come over and check them out.

  26. This game has such a large place in my heart. It was one of the earlier arcade titles I played, and when I got a Colecovision for Christmas in 1985, it was one of the games waiting for me that day, along with Donkey Kong and Mouse Trap, making this one of the first video games I ever owned. I later got the NES port the day after Christmas in 1993 at a local video rental store.

  27. They need to bring back these classic games and not on sum foreign made retro system
