IREM (アイレム, Airemu) fue fundada en 1974 bajo el nombre de IPM. Publicó su primer videojuego para arcade en 1978, IPM Invader y en 1979 cambió su nombre a Irem Corporation.

La compañía es probablemente muy conocida por Moon Patrol, el famoso scrolling shooter R-Type y los primeros beat ’em up, Kung-Fu Master.

  20. Some of these games remember me of the design art of Metal Slug, even some sounds are the same. Like in 28:28, 31:55 and 35:30.

  21. Gun force 2 es como un Metal Slug, pero hecho por Irem. Una compañía de videojuegos realmente mítica. En su haber están algunos juegos legendarios como Kung-Fu Master, Vigilante, o R-Type, entre otros. ¡Excelente recopilación… Saludos!

  26. Crappy clones (like IPM Invader) and ports of other people's games (like Lode Runner) have no place in a list like this. I knew something was wrong when I saw the duration of the video.
