Arcade Games Of the 90’s – Part 1: 1990

A list of arcade games that were released in 1990!

The early 90s was probably the best time to be an arcade fan. The experimental eras of the 80s were gone, and developers now had a good grasp of what worked well and what didn’t. Just about every game that was released was technically polished and playable…if mostly derivative and sticking to safe genres. Still, it was a good time!

  1. Great Steamkey Gary, thanks! It's top-down twin-stick dystopian police game JYDGE, made by the Neon Chrome devs 10guns. Slick action, and I like the world-painting…

As for this video, wow wow wow. I'll be watching again and again, and look forward to the continuing series. I've swung back to preferring short-play, arcade-style games in the last few years — too busy with kids/life to play a 60-hour RPG, or to put in the time to "get gud" at the best challenging modern action games with their exhausting campaigns. How great would it be to have a 90's arcade around the corner with these games in them?

  2. Thank you this reminds me a lot of the best moments of my childhood

  3. Are you doing one of these per year for every year of the 90s?? So 1000+ games?!

  4. Thunder jaws es un juego muy bien logrado…hermoso para la época…

  5. Great Videos, I can´t wait for you guys to reach the late 90´s and early 2000. I remember a lot of games from that era that I never have seen again. Mostly running in Naomi.

  6. Great list, Gary! Can't comment more due to being lazy and also reason why I don't upload lately and watch many vidsXD

  7. Good stuff. I knew 8 of these and another 19 of these I knew of but not that it was in the arcades. Keep up the good work. I check your channel every few days or so to see if you put out another of these.

  8. 15:22 fun fact: aside from appearing on his own game, sonic first debut as a car key chain in rad mobile

  9. Is this list complete? no game of 1990 is out?

  10. I'd like to see more 'every game for a platform by year' videos. 🙂

  11. Playing all of these on the PlayStation classic baby!
