Arcade Games Of the 90’s – Part 1: 1990

A list of arcade games that were released in 1990!

The early 90s was probably the best time to be an arcade fan. The experimental eras of the 80s were gone, and developers now had a good grasp of what worked well and what didn’t. Just about every game that was released was technically polished and playable…if mostly derivative and sticking to safe genres. Still, it was a good time!

  1. Some people always say that arcade of the 80s was the golden age but I think the 90s arcades were the golden age since graphics had improved so much and there were so many good arcade games.

  2. Does anyone remember the name of an arcade game where it was full screen armored fighters with weapons and you attack high low and mid and you can break armor and chop limbs and cut heads off. I played it at Davis month Air Force base outside of the px when I was like 12. I can’t remember the name

  3. 1990 was a good year for arcade gaming. Treasure after treasure. And thanks for making these video's! Very much appriciated.

  4. Thank you for doing this dog
im discovering lots of new games thanks to this lists 😃

  5. 15:25 What is that sonic doll doing in a 1990 game when the first sonic game wasn´t released until 1991 !? unless this game shouldn´t be in the list at all?

  6. I just love the colour palette of pixel graphics. It looks so realistic way back then.

  7. 7:15 the guy on the left looks like Supaiman from Akira Toriyama´s manga "DR.Slump"

  8. They were not just games but parts of our lives and childhood, remarkable and unforgettable memories. What an amazing channel you have friend, will keep my eyes out for your future post and content as I absolutely adore the retro games although I play the modern ones nowadays.Let’s keep them alive.Have a good week ahead.

  9. 7:30 was this game reallly from the 90's?Its look like it is from the 2000's!

  10. The best era ever, so glad to have been a 90s kid

  11. Great games a lot I never saw. But great 90s feel.

  12. I don't remember many of these having sound this bad. It must be an emulator or compression thing

  13. Thx I saw some of my teen year games. Brought back some arcade memories and also been looking for the name of few will check part 2 out well done.

  14. Some real all-time classics in this one. Pigskin 621AD is maybe my personal favorite arcade game ever

  15. Great Steamkey Gary, thanks! It's top-down twin-stick dystopian police game JYDGE, made by the Neon Chrome devs 10guns. Slick action, and I like the world-painting…

As for this video, wow wow wow. I'll be watching again and again, and look forward to the continuing series. I've swung back to preferring short-play, arcade-style games in the last few years — too busy with kids/life to play a 60-hour RPG, or to put in the time to "get gud" at the best challenging modern action games with their exhausting campaigns. How great would it be to have a 90's arcade around the corner with these games in them?

  16. Thank you this reminds me a lot of the best moments of my childhood

  17. Are you doing one of these per year for every year of the 90s?? So 1000+ games?!

  18. Thunder jaws es un juego muy bien logrado…hermoso para la época…

  19. Great Videos, I can´t wait for you guys to reach the late 90´s and early 2000. I remember a lot of games from that era that I never have seen again. Mostly running in Naomi.

  20. Great list, Gary! Can't comment more due to being lazy and also reason why I don't upload lately and watch many vidsXD

  21. Good stuff. I knew 8 of these and another 19 of these I knew of but not that it was in the arcades. Keep up the good work. I check your channel every few days or so to see if you put out another of these.

  22. 15:22 fun fact: aside from appearing on his own game, sonic first debut as a car key chain in rad mobile

  23. Is this list complete? no game of 1990 is out?

  24. I'd like to see more 'every game for a platform by year' videos. 🙂

  25. Playing all of these on the PlayStation classic baby!
