1989 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle TMNT Arcade Old School Game Playthrough retro game

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, released as Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles in Europe, and Gekikame Ninja Den (激亀忍者伝?, “Fierce Turtle Ninja Legend”) in Japan, is a 1989 platform game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The game was developed by Konami and originally released in Japan through Konami themselves, then in North America through Konami’s Ultra Games imprint, followed by a release through the European equivalent, Palcom Software, in PAL regions.

This was the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game, and is based on the 1987 TV series, which was in its third season at the time of the game’s original release, although the art style more resembles the original comic series. The game was ported to various home computer platforms in 1990; the original NES version was ported to Nintendo’s PlayChoice-10 arcade system in 1991, and the Wii’s Virtual Console service in 2007. It was taken off the Wii Shop Channel on January 26, 2012.

  10. My childhood memory. I miss late 80s & early 90s. Turtles said "pizza time" but to me it heard like "pizza pie".

  19. I had this game for my Nintendo or genesis system I can’t remember but I had it. I was about 7-9 years old then

  20. Can I play this now in the Nintendo Switch or PS5 ? or anywhere else ?

  21. Random question but, does anyone know what triggers the turtles to throw an enemy?
Is it distance? is it completely randomised?

  22. I spent a ton of quarters playing this in the arcade! I miss those times!

  23. M.A.G.A! MAKE ARCADES GREAT AGAIN. lol.
Remember first seeing this as an 8 year old in 1989. Man, it blew my socks off!
It has to be my favourite arcade game of all time.

As soon as I walked into the arcade I would head straight over to this.
Then it would be onto double dragon, golden axe, robocop, Michael Jackson's moonwalker, wrestle fest, and aliens. They was the arcade machines that I'd play most around 89 n 90.
Awesome time to be a kid.

  24. Man… this takes me back. Our local McDonald's had this game and I remember begging my mom for quarters after id finish my chicken nugget happy meal. Man those were some good times.

  25. Prefer the nes music for the sewers then the arcade.

  26. YouTube videos have become a reminder as well representation of how much time has passed.

  27. Como é bom voltar no tempo. Que viagem. 😍
